About The Kandid

WHAT IS THE KANDID?

The Kandid is a small photography studio and multi-use event space in Hong Kong, primarily used as a space for family portraiture and headshots. It is also the home of Justin Lim Photography.

WHAT DOES THE KANDID DO?

The Kandid was founded in 2013 as a counterpoint to standard “boring” commercial photography studios. Filled with props, textures and other details, it is a venue for creative shoots, Instagram styling, and even small pop-ups and events. Over the years The Kandid has hosted workshops, whisky tastings, board game nights and more. After a refit in 2020, the studio now continues to produce creative portraiture.

The space’s interior was featured in both Home Journal and Lifestyle Asia. A full feature article in Emirates' Magazine "Open Skies" was dedicated to the space, with Justin Lim featuring as their in-flight “Entrepreneur of the Month”.

Brands which have chosen The Kandid Soho as a venue for shoots include LifestyleAsia, Shanghai Tang and MR PORTER.
